Love Taps

Four weeks ago, the Miami Heat flailed without Dwyane Wade, when he was sidelined due to a strained calf. They dropped games against the lowly T-Wolves and middling Bucs. They fell below the .500 mark and into third in the Southeast Division. D-Wade’s return game against the Orlando Magic was good but not good enough, as he was clearly plagued by rust while his teammates continued to be plagued by The Suck.

But four games later, against division rival Hawks, Wade pretty much did it all, including punching Michael Beasley in the chest during a team timeout. The result: Beasley tore things up, scoring 14 points in the fourth, including seven in a row in the final two minutes, to give Miami the much-needed win. Thursday, Miami takes on its other divisional rival, the Orlando Magic, at American Airlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami). This time, Wade will play sans rust. And he will punch whomever he has to in order to get this all-important division win. Tickets start at $10. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
