All right, if youre reading this and you have no brunch plans for Easter already, were guessing you dont have a special Easter bonnet all picked out. But since it is Easter, hell, brunch sounds nice. Here are two last-minute eateries you can hop to:
Rosies Bar & Grill (2449 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors) is the best cure for the hangover. No more than five minutes there and youll be biting the hair of the dog: The upbeat crowd, the colored paper lanterns and fairy lights, the outside patio it all calls for festive, fruity drinks. For grub, theres the Nelly Frittata, an egg-white frittata filled with three meats: sausage, bacon, and chicken; and the veggies: Spanish onions and red and green peppers. Also, theres the Un-Teeny Santorini (Greek omelet) and Miss Trunys deep-dish, Southern-style, not-so-French toast. Your call on the booze, but the most requested drinks are the Rosies mojito, the bloody mary, and the piña colada. Brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 954-567-1320.
For some spiffy brunch treatment, head on over to YOLO (333 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). The fire pit might not be roaring through brunch hours, but the contemporary vibe will be there. The brunch menu consists of omelets, breakfast burritos, salmon BLTs, and smoked pork hash. Try the bloody mary bar or go for one of their signature cocktails (there are pages of them). The brunch runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 954-523-1000.
