Paul McCartney's Rumored Final World Tour Stops in South Florida

Paul McCartney's "Coming Up" dates are rumored to mark his final world tour. Whether or not that's the case, this latest jaunt does allow him to revisit some familiar terrain. Just before his South Florida stop, he's scheduled to play two nights at the venerable Hollywood Bowl — site of two of the Beatles' more memorable stops during their '64 and '65 U.S. visits. The shows were belatedly released as live recordings. And although it's not quite a landmark of similar stature, even Sun Life Stadium plays a role in the ex-Beatle's trajectory. The former Joe Robbie Stadium hosted him in 1990 for a two-night stand, his first Miami visit since he and his mates played the Deauville Hotel for Ed Sullivan 26 years prior.

More About

Macca's been back since, most recently to launch his 2005 U.S. trek at the Miami Arena. He spent several weeks here at that time in preparations, rehearsals, and hanging out at the Ritz-Carlton on Key Biscayne. One thing in particular has changed: Then-wife Heather Mills is history, at no small cost to his bank account. Musically, Sir Paul's got nothing new to hype other than yet another in a series of seemingly endless live albums (Good Evening New York City) and a one-off new song keyed to the Everybody's Fine soundtrack ("(I Want to) Come Home"). No matter. With the world's richest musical catalog at his command, he never fails to rekindle fond memories for the masses.
