The Beach Boys and John Stamos to Play Kravis Center

The Beach Boys were the quintessential American band even before they were featured in Malcolm Leo's 1985 documentary An American Band. As the soundtrack to so many memories, the band's pioneering pop is not a sound you hear just during summertime. It's the season's embodiment: a slice of Americana honoring simpler times, summer loves, classic cars, and surfing.

Most of the founding members have departed from the touring roster. Absent are mastermind Brian Wilson, guitarist Al Jardine, and Wilson's brothers Dennis and Carl, who have both passed away. Sure, the lineup has changed over the years, but the Beach Boys' music remains timeless and transcendental.

Mike Love, the only remaining original member still hitting the road under the Beach Boys name, has a capable lineup behind him. A couple of notables included in the current group are Bruce Johnston, who first joined the band in '65 to replace Brian on tour, and Mike's son Christian Love. Plus the show features a reminder of a classic Full House episode with Uncle Jesse himself, frequent tour mate John Stamos.
