Scrap Heat

The Eastern Conference has pretty much been all about the Cavaliers and Magic this season. But no team is entering the post-season hotter than the Miami Heat. Sure, it’s been able to benefit from a cakewalk schedule down the stretch. But that doesn’t mean it can’t dent a few asses in the playoffs. There is, of course, Dwyane Wade for teams to contend with. But D-Wade has been getting big games from Jermaine O’Neal, Udonis Haslem, and Quentin Richardson of late. And don’t forget the Puerto Rican Michael Jordan, Carlos Arroyo. If that’s not enough, there’s this: Miami is 23-2 when it holds an opponent to under 90 points this year. However you slice it, no one wants to face this Heat team right now — especially in the first round. The Heat may not win it all this season, but you can be damned sure it’ll bust a few balls along the way. Dudes better wear their cups. The Heat takes on the New Jersey Nets tonight at American Airlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami). Tickets start at $10. Tip-off is at 8 p.m.
Wed., April 14, 8 p.m., 2010
