Kinky Reggae

Florida isn’t far from the Caribbean, but that’s easy to forget when the temperature drops to a frigid 55 degrees. The 2010 Reggae Fest is a happy reminder that we’re really in the tropics and that spring is here to replace a sleet-spurting winter. The two-day festival is also a capital opportunity to smoke weed and not give a fuck.

Not that this is encouragement to bring your stash to Reggae Fest and smoke up — that’s illegal. But it’ll be tempting with international reggae star Rafijah Siano and major ecstasy-giver Anthony B. Hall performing at Bryant Park along the Intracoastal from morning to night, with many other artists. Plus, there’ll be mouthwatering Caribbean food, which fuses every imaginable cuisine from Chinese, Indian, and Dutch to Amerindian and French. And don’t forget the high, high spirits.

The 2010 Reggae Fest is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Bryant Park (30 S. Golfview Road, Lake Worth). One-day admission costs $10. Call 561-582-4401, or visit lwchamber.com.
Sat., April 17, 10 a.m.; Sun., April 18, noon, 2010
