In her own hardback, however, Mrs. Bush covers everything from her upbringing in a scrappy Texas oil town to her unexpected arrival on the national scene after marrying into one of America’s most prominent political families. She also recalls Dubya’s battle with the bottle, the strange days following one of the closest elections in American history, and her husband’s rabid War on Terror. Along with her daughter Jenna, the former First Lady will autograph copies of the new memoir at 1 p.m. Friday at Books & Books (265 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables). Purchase a $30 copy of Spoken from the Heart at any Books & Books location to get your ticket for the signing. Call 305-442-4408, or visit booksandbooks.com.
