Extreme Grunge

In the '90s, bands like Three Doors Down, Creed, and Godsmack emerged alongside skateboarders and bikers to start their own Olympics of extreme, post-grunge fury. These bands -- plus Seven Mary Three ¯ adopted grunge, but they all chopped out that wussy sensitivity. This alteration helped make some of them the most successful musicians of the '90s -- but Seven Mary Three lead the post-grunge charge with "Cumbersome," which is still ingrained in the earholes 14 years later. And, surprisingly, the quartet from Williamsburg, Virginia is still touring and releasing albums. They'll be playing at 8 p.m. at Vince Neil's Feelgoods (219 Clematis St., West Palm Beach). Tickets cost $10. Call 561-833-6500, or visit feelgoodswestpalm.com.
Thu., May 20, 8 p.m., 2010
