Water… Sans Tar Balls!

While it remains to be seen if the BP oil spill will make our pristine waters forever look like the contents of a bottle of Kraft Zesty Italian dressing, the importance of its recovery is undeniable. If you feel helpless in the process, turn off the TV and come out and examine the current issues facing water quality and conservation during “Water Works: Soak Up the Science” at the Museum of Discovery and Science (401 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale). The multimedia exhibit offers a fun and informative way to learn all there is to know about our most precious natural resource.

Pilot a model submarine, capture snowflakes, make a rainbow and find your water footprint all in one day at the museum. Museum attendees are also invited to meet the Water Molecule and follow his adventures through the water cycle. Admission for the exhibit is $9 for children and $11 for adults. Call 954-467-MODS or visit mods.org.
Mondays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.; Sundays, noon. Starts: June 2. Continues through Sept. 6, 2010
