Movie, Ice Cream, and Grass
The Las Olas Association is cooling off the summer heat with a nice event, “Movies Under the Stars.”Last year’s event brought people by the hundreds with lawn chairs, blankets, and pets in tow to the Riverside Hotel’s Great Lawn.
Tonight is a showing of Fantastic Mr. Fox, the 2009 animated film directed by Wes Anderson and based on Roald Dahl’s children’s novel of the same name. George Clooney and Meryl Streep do the voices of the fox couple, who are hunted by crazed farmers. They escape with their son deep underground and plot revenge.
It’ll be hot outside, and that’s where the Cold Stone Creamery comes in. It’s sponsoring the show. So instead of curling up on the couch with an entire container of chunky chocolate, you can do essentially the same thing outdoors. “Movies Under the Stars” starts at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Riverside Hotel (620 E.
