Yu-Gi-Oh!? No, Ky-o-to!

All right, let’s do a little word association, shall we? Here’s a couple to visualize: Japan and art. And your answers are… Dragon Ball? Pokémon? Legend of the Overfiend? OK, so clearly Japanese art history wasn’t your major in college. Then again, whose was? Perhaps we’d all benefit from a trip to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens (4000 Morikami Park Road, Delray Beach) for a look at its new exhibit, Kyoto: A Place in Art.” As intriguing as it is educational, the exhibit offers a variety of works from the traditional side of Japanese culture, including ceramics, textiles, photographs, woodblock prints, and a pair of folding screens showing a slice of life in 18th-century Kyoto. You can play with your Yu-Gi-Oh! cards some other time.
