Black Violin Hits Revolution With Classical Hip-Hop

From Bach to Bird to Biggie, Black Violin executes a unique and often brilliant juxtaposition of urban and classical styles. The two-man violin/viola hip-hop outfit of Wil B and Kev Marcus from Fort Lauderdale got a couple of big breaks early on, first in 2004 at the Billboard Music Awards playing with Alicia Keys, followed by winning the Apollo Legend title in 2005.

Since then, Black Violin's experiences have included a recording session with Aretha Franklin and the Eagles, an intimate private concert at minister Louis Farrakhan's 75th birthday party, an opening spot for a Wu-Tang Clan show in Dubai, and a guest slot on PBS' Angelina Ballerina. Topping it off, they've worked with Diddy, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Tom Petty, and Aerosmith.
