Among the 35 Miami artists, Beatriz Monteavaro employs classic punk rock and campy horror-movie imagery in her sculptures. Kevin Arrow uses photo light boxes and a vintage slide projector to showcase discarded vacation images from Miami garage sales. Don Lambert shows a spinning disc sculpture inspired by Edwin Abbotts sci-fi novella Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions.
"New Work" runs through October 17, but this Saturday at 6 p.m., the exhibits opening night will feature performances by the TM Sisters, music by Oscar Fuentes and the Gipsy Catz, and a makeshift radio broadcasting studio by the artist collective Talking Head Transmitters.
