If the spirit of Ziggy Stardust were dead, it would be reincarnated as the interplanetary glam-fab superstar Travulous. Word is, hes just arrived on the scene from a world populated with David Bowie-styled androgynous types, but already hes sprinkling his charm all over DIY art space the Bubble. Lucky for us, hes just in time for ArtServes "Red Eye," the celebration of the eclectic and unconventional arts that make our scene just a bit more interesting and bizarre. This year, the Bubble will host an afterparty for "Red Eye" called Thee Itty Bitty Blazer Gala, hosted by Travulous. The showcase will include music by Dooms de Pop, Scott Putesky, Radar vs. Wolf, the Green Mantles, Bad Ass, and Travulous & Friends. But Travulous real talents should ultimately materialize during the events fashion review, in which local designers will compete for the title of Red Eye 2010 Fashion Designer of the Year. Judges include City Link fashion writer Joanie Cox, Ambiente Magazines Armando Diaz Jr., and Marilyn Manson cofounder and Kill Miss Pretty guitarist Scott Putesky (who will also play; see above). As always, the gallery will cover its walls with works by local artists. Fridays event will feature art by Blair Hess, Erin ODea Cook, Rachel DeJohn, Skot Olsen, and more.
