In the beginning, there was man. (For the purposes of this article, only man.) And man needed tools, because without tools, he was no different from the common beast, a big gorilla with less hair. Not only were tools practical; they made life easier and the impossible possible. And like jewelry, they conveyed status. The kind of status one gets with the latest iPhone or exotic sports car.

This testosterone-fueled history will manifest itself Sunday at “Rock ‘N’ Toys for Real Boys," presented by 93 Rock. Touch and test-drive the latest in land and water vehicles, cigars, high-tech gadgets and doodads, and sports gear from the Florida Marlins and Florida Panthers. The local rock radio station will, in addition to bringing the noise, host the event with giveaways, games, and prizes. Budweiser will provide samples of its wares, and Monster Energy Drinks and Hollywood bar Whiskey Tango will bring the food and flavors.
