The Mai-Kai Restaurant is like an oasis in the desert. You know this town can be a land full of look-alike bars and restaurants, where this one represents Polynesian shows, outlandish décor, and dishes from all over the Orient. And on Saturday, the stakes are raised even higher because DJ Sensitive Side and James Brown’s sweat are throwing down their second event at the Molokai Bar inside Mai-Kai. Local legend DJ Sensitive Side will spin a mix of soul, ’50s and ’60s R&B, punk, mod, rockabilly, garage, and so much more. To boot, Radio-Active Records’ Mikey Ramirez will join the fun, digging deep into his vinyl collection and bringing you some of history’s best dance-party gems. These guys can’t stop, won’t stop, so you better be ready, because this event also features, from 10 p.m. to midnight, a special late-night happy hour. Certain drinks will be half price, and there will be appetizer specials. Also on tap, live screen-printing featuring a special Mai-Kai shirt and other designs. Since Radio-Active Records is sponsoring the event, it will give away concert tickets to those who are sweating it out on the floor.
