Beach Bash 2010 claims to be “Fort Lauderdale’s sexiest party of the year.” We can’t really vouch for that. After all, this is South Florida. If you don’t have a sunburn on your ass, then you’re wearing too much clothing. But let’s look at the situation objectively. What makes something sexy in South Florida? Requirement one: Will there be incredibly hot women? Well, this year’s music will be provided by New Times Best DJ of 2010 and Playboy Playmate DJ Tamara Sky. So… yes. Requirement two: Is it opulent, exclusive, and expensive? (It cannot be sexy in SFL if it doesn’t hurt your wallet, dazzle the senses, and exclude the common rabble.) Tickets cost $50 per person for open bar, food, and live music. VIP will run you $100 and gets you into the Ocean Drive VIP lounge. But let’s face it, you spent more than that on your shirt, and you’re much more important than Very anyway. Well, you’ll want a private cabana for you and nine friends for $2,000. Requirement three (and most important): Does it benefit a good cause? That would be the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. That’s right: You get to lounge poolside at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, ogle a Playmate, and drink from an open bar completely guilt-free because you’re curing chronic illness.
