Joe Satriani is a stunning guitar virtuoso. He's played with rock royalty including Mick Jagger, Deep Purple, and Alice Cooper while also forging his own distinctive style with a fusionesque frenzy. Boldly venturing into more progressive realms, his fiery pyrotechnics have earned him a reputation as one of the most inventive guitarists of the modern era.

In the early '90s, Satriani's credibility was further entrenched when he sanctioned his own line of guitars for Ibanez and recorded a stunning string of groundbreaking solo albums, each showcasing his daring and diversity. They included the Grammy-nominated Engines of Creation; the studio sets Crystal Planet, Strange Beautiful Music, Flying in a Beautiful Dream, and Super Colossal; as well as various live recordings, an essential anthology, and his recent release, Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards. Meanwhile, he maintains his associations with others — among them, an annual showcase tour with former student and fellow guitar star Steve Vai and, more recently, the band Chickenfoot, which found him pairing up with Van Halen veterans Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony. Regardless, Satriani stands alone, a dazzling example of a musician turned maestro.
