With its ghoulish Eddie Munster getups and iconic skull logo, seminal punk-rock act the Misfits makes every day Halloween. The innovators of horror punk come to town at the tail end of their extended 30th anniversary tour. Diehard fans might scoff at the fact this trio is even touring under the Misfits moniker, considering that bassist and current vocalist Jerry Only (Gerald Caiafa) is the sole remaining member of the group's original late-'70s lineup.

Only made up for the lack of original lead singer Glenn Danzig's throaty howls and Elvisesque croons by recruiting two Black Flag members — guitarist Dez Cadena and drummer Robo. Together, the three-piece is pretty convincing at re-creating what made the Misfits famous in the first place: a theatrical, over-the-top brand of hardcore that positioned the band as a touchstone in the punk movement and inspired many a smudged guyliner, ridiculous Flock of Seagulls haircuts — the band sports pointy bangs it calls "devil locks" — and paved the way for dramatic punk-rock acts like My Chemical Romance.
