Nothing says the holidays like a performance from a tatted-up rapper the size of Mr. T. Flo Ridas intimidating six-foot-two, 215-pound frame does not always reflect his music, however. He manages to take his hard-knock, Coral City roots and fuse them with the likes of David Guetta, Ke$ha, and Timberland. Since his single Low took over radiowaves back in 2008, his appeal has stretched from hood rats to house moms and everyone in between. Ridas music has even been featured on soundtracks for Disneys G-Force and Step Up 3D. Despite banking on some serious commercial success, hes caught a little heat for occasionally compromising his street credibility. Either way, Ridas international success has put the musical spotlight on South Florida, a feat few artists can claim.

This Saturday, Rida will perform his hip-hop pop live at the Y-100 Jingle Ball Concert Afterparty at Opium Nightclub (5729 Seminole Way, Hollywood). Given the earlier concerts headliners (think Katy Perry, Jay Sean, and B.O.B., to name a few), its likely that Rida wont be the only celeb taking the Opium stage Saturday night. Tickets cost $20. The party kicks off at 11 p.m. Call 954-327-9094 or visit opiumhardrock.com.
