Jumbotron

When your parents warned you about running away to join the circus, it wasn’t because they were afraid you’d never call home again (that was inevitable) or concerned you’d fall into a vat of psychotropic animal water and hallucinate about pink elephants on parade. No, they were afraid you’d wind up pushing the broom behind actual elephants. But elephants aren’t just dung factories for romantic flunkies to clean up after. They’re also the royal stars of the circus, perfectly able to (though disappointingly unlikely to) casually maim a clown. Elephants and their XXXXXXXXXXL sartorial stylings are also a focus of the Magical Holiday Circus Exhibition that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey are rolling out in West Palm Beach this month. See! Custom elephant blankets! (Horse and camel stuff too.) Behold! A bunch of elephant paintings! Ogle! An elephant headpiece! Other costumes for humans and animals will be on display to get you keen for the circus’ arrival at the end of December. Until then, you can indulge your inner Dumbo at the Waterfront Pavilion (Flagler Boulevard and Clematis Street, West Palm Beach) for free Sundays through Fridays from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. To get more information on circus-related matters, direct your internets to ringling.com.
