Intergalactic surf rockers the Gutter Queens ensure that every willing participant can have a very retro and ribald Christmas this year at the Monterey Club. Led by guitarist-vocalist Ryan Black, the Coconut Creek natives (currently students at USF in Tampa) do a mean rendition of Dick Dale's "Misirlou" dubbed "Gutterlou." Expect Black, drummer Ryan Kaufman, and a rotating cast of bassists to have a spooky theremin device named Groucho Marx onstage too. Plus, judging by what we could gather in a brief interview, the guys promise to make out with dudes onstage and a whole bunch of debauchery. Brand-new songs are planned in addition to material from the band's untitled EP in July and the recently released full-length Espacio Desnudo, which translates as "naked space." Who knows what might get unwrapped Saturday night?
