Between New Years Eve parties and South Floridas beaches, the endless stream of meticulously sculpted bodies may seem to bombard your senses with nothing but aesthetically pleasing stimuli every minute of every beautiful day. Well, soon the Kravis Center will offer you the chance to stare at a big hairy eyesore for hours on end in an attempt to help restore balance to your disproportionately beauty-drenched existence. Beauty and the Beast, the long-running and wildly popular Broadway musical based on an animated Disney film, is making a West Palm Beach stop this holiday season to the delight of small children and emotionally stunted adults all over South Florida. The show is a lively rendition of the movie, adding the elements of dynamic live performances, pyrotechnics, and impressive costuming. Justin Glaser and Liz Shivener, both actors with long lists of off-Broadway theater credits, play the leads. It runs Tuesday, Thursday, at Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday and Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Kravis Center of the Performing Arts (701 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach). Tickets start at $25. Call 561-832-7469, or visit kravis.org.
