New Year's Eve at Lola's on Harrison

Lola’s on Harrison is just about the prettiest little bistro in Hollywood. That it’s also one of the city’s most economical and gastronomically inspired eateries explains its rabid clientele, which come for the Coca-Cola ribs, the purple potato skins with sturgeon caviar, the homey-chic ambiance, and the brilliant beer flights. On New Year’s, Lola’s will offer three seatings at three price points. Folks arriving 5 to 5:30 p.m. will pay $60 for a three-course menu; those arriving 7 to 8 p.m. will pay $70 for four courses, and those arriving at 9 to close get five courses, plus a champagne toast, for $80. All three seatings choose from an appetizer menu featuring foie gras with Sateurnes gelée and a seasonal vegetable selection with a black truffle cream; all three seatings will select from one of two entrées — a “bone-in” filet mignon with cheddar scalloped potatoes, baby carrots, and a veal demiglacé; or a Hawaiian tuna steak with “Pecan Himalayan Rice,” bok choy, and an ancho-chili red pepper sauce. A limited version of the standard menu will also be available on request, and many will partake (cuz those ribs are un-bucking-felievable). Reserve soon: Lola’s always sells out.
Fri., Dec. 31, 5 p.m., 2010
