Grateful Dead fans know that Bob Weir has been scaring children for decades with his crazy screams, terrifying knowledge of guitar chords, and most recently, with his wild beard. So when he began playing shows with RatDog cronies Jay Lane and Rob Wasserman over the past couple of years under the name Scaring the Children, some may have found the warning to be appropriate, while others at least got a chuckle.

Unlike other post-Dead projects that Weir has been involved in such as RatDog and Further, Scaring the Children has remained an occasional arrangement. It's a special opportunity to hear Dead tunes, other Weir originals, and selected covers performed with a stripped-down arrangement of guitar, bass, and drums. The gig at Revolution comes on the heels of a charity event that the trio played in San Francisco to benefit Casa de Milagros, an organization that benefits, ironically, orphaned children. After Revolution, the group hits the high seas on the Jam Cruise. Although the club gig won't be quite as delightfully scary as being in the middle of the ocean with Bob Weir, it is sure to be a special show nonetheless.
