You can feel experimental activity inside the walls of the Bubble on every occasion, creative types are encouraging music, art, dance; theyre thinking creatively inside its warehouse walls as well as outside in the back, on the gravel, grass, and dirt. At one gathering, Trav of Travalonia serenaded his closest friends from the roof. You got shadow puppets that need to tell a story? A stage where you can perform under twinklelights underneath the stars? Wall space in which to hang pieces that enriched your soul to make? Everyone needs a venue to express herself. The artsy inhabitants at the Bubble just know that this wont its incapable of happening at the W. And the space is big enough, luxurious enough, to bring all these eclectic arts together and comfortably house every individual. Lasting a single night from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday will be no different. Everything Is Alive will be a minifestival full of crafts vendors, an open-mic space, live mural painting, drumming, and vegetarian food. A day of art and music MINEO, Xela Zaid, Laurie and Todd (from Brooklyn), Travalonia, Tim Hicks, Brady Newbill, among others and yoga. A big sunset jam will welcome the night. Every person who has been part of the Bubble this past year will tell you that its a comfortable place. The open-mic space wants attendees to share their acoustic music, poetry, comedy, stories, whatever throughout the event. Where else will you jump into a downward dog in the middle of a bands set which might consist of only drumming?
Admission costs $5 before 6 p.m., $10 afterward; complimentary drinks with admission. The jamboree goes down at the Bubble, located at 801 NE Fourth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-562-3804, or visit independentworkingartistnetwork.com.
