Ladies Night Minus Fluff

We at New Times don't usually endorse ladies' nights -- the concept usually screams watered-down fruit martinis and purse-clutching group dances to Beyonce -- but it's worth heading over to Kill Your Idol for the bar's weekly Wednesday human jukeboxes, especially if your chromosomes are of the xx variety.

The Kill Your Idol version is an exception to the cheese. Probably most importantly, women drink free all night. That's free, on the usual wells and beers, no catch, no buy-one requirements, no time cap. Got that? Behind the booze haze, too, are some killer tunes, courtesy of resident DJs Caroline and Desiree, as well as rotating female guests, who spin everything from vintage rock and roll to left-field electro to moody indie rock. The official party kicks off at 11 p.m.
