While the pairing of thinking man's mainstream rapper Wale and ATL crunk up-and-comer Roscoe Dash may seem like a bit of a stretch, the two have recent collaborations together that suggest otherwise.
Wale and Dash's appearances on Waka Flocka Flame's smash hit, "No Hands," and the Roscoe-laced chorus on Wale's newest single, "Talk2Me," show the Washington, D.C., emcee grazing in bouncier, more urban pastures located much farther south of the Mason-Dixon. These collabos, along with some recent Twitter messages, fueled an unpopular but now substantiated rumor that Wale made the unlikely jump from Mark Ronson's Interscope-distributed Allido Records to Rick Ross' Maybach Music.
While we can be positive that Wale and Dash will be rocking their new tracks together live on Saturday, it's unclear if they'll be joined onstage by Waka Flocka, as advertised, for a first-time performance of "No Hands." Being that the flier lists him as a special "invited" guest (an age-old promotional trick), my rap magic eight-ball points to outlook not so good. On the other hand, Broward's own J-O, whose "My Smoke Song" caught the attention of New Times back in July, will grace the stage as well — and we're pretty sure he won't miss this show for anything.
