South Florida has long been the mecca for snowbirding seniors and so there has never been any shortage of activities for grandma and grandpa. And no one can deny how the once Spring Break capital of the world has also catered to the very young, hard-partying crowd. But those in between, 21 to 39, still young but looking for something more substantial than a bar, have been left out. Stuck in the heat with nothing to do. Fort Lauderdale has recently taken notice of this lapse, first with the Ghost Light Society at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and now with a series of free events at the Museum of Art|Fort Lauderdale (1 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). “All Together Now” aims to make the museum more than just a building of art, but a nexus of cultural activity. This month’s event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday will include readings by local writers Ebone, Emma Trelles, and P. Scott Cunningham and an acoustic performance by Ryan Alexander of indie rock band Alexander. And, of course, happy hour specials will abound. Call 954-262-0245, or visit moaflnsu.org for more information. Also, like“All Together Now” on Facebook.
