Unsurprisingly, the new album still carries a fair share of personal pathos. Oberst notes on "Shell Games": "I'm still angry with no reason to be," and later, "My private life is an inside joke, no one will explain it to me."
But when asked about the upcoming North American tour launch at the Fillmore Miami, which could be the last one under the Bright Eyes moniker, there's excitement in his voice. Locals should stay attentive in the days leading up to Wednesday's show because Oberst and his band will be working on preproduction in the area and taking the opportunity to "hide from the cold."
