While Miami's been snagging many of the big dubstep bookings of late, here's something to make the southernmost bass crews green. It's Respectable Street that's hosting the next South Florida appearance by producer/DJ titan Noah D. The Portland-based artist started sniffing around the low end in the early '00s; first, like many of his peers, as a drum 'n' bass aficionado.

While slowing things down, Noah D kept much of that genre's soulful strains intact. Rather than always going for the most head-crushing, warped basslines, Noah D instead favors skittering amen breaks, atmospheric synth washes, and heavy helpings of ragga and hip-hop flavor.
This global take on the genre means that Noah's one of the select American producers to get equal props in dubstep's original native land, the U.K. His original tracks have seen regular airplay on taste-making radio shows there on stations like Rinse FM, Kiss, and BBC's 1Xtra. Though older tracks, like 2009's monster smash "Seeeriousss," still burn up dance floors, a new forthcoming studio full-length promises to show his evolution as an album artist.
