A Nugget of Hope

The last time your Miami Heat faced the Denver Nuggets, LeBron James was nursing a sprained ankle and Carmelo Anthony was on a tear, despite his constant whining for a trade. Those brutal January conditions led to a 130-102 drubbing for the Heat — the team’s second-worst margin of defeat this season. But now it’s time for payback. James is healthy again, and Melo got his wish with a one-way ticket to New York. That means the Heat should be fired up when it faces off at home against the Nuggets this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. You could shell out $55 or more per ticket, brave I-95 traffic in your 1993 Toyota Corolla, and pray your car doesn’t get stripped for parts in the shady lots surrounding the American Airlines Arena (located at 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami). Or you could do what the smart Browardites do and watch this pivotal game from the comfort of Bokamper’s Sports Bar and Grill in Plantation(1280 S. Pine Island Road). The bar has all the requisites for victory: ample seating, food that kicks the crap out of any stadium grub, and a 360-degree view of the action courtesy of its bazillion flat-screen TVs. Sounds like a plan. Call 954-533-7152, or visit bokampers.com.
