Kiss Me; I’m Irish

Rock stars don’t need to use St. Patrick’s Day as an excuse to party — they live every day of their lives like it was a drunken holiday. But us work-a-day folk? We need more excuses than a leprechaun with a bladder problem. So here’s your motivation: Shimmy on down to Seminole Paradise at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino this Thursday for “KISS the Blarneystone.” This rocking St. Patty’s Day block party kicks off at noon at Murphy’s Law with Avalon, a traditional Irish band that will get you in the drinking mood right away. You’ll satisfy your quota for loose-fitting tunics as the Karl Drake Irish Dancers take the stage thereafter while you drink a pint or two of green beer before doing what the real revelers do (switch to Guinness). Then at 8 p.m., stumble past the roving bagpipers parading the promenade (sodding bastards) and head over to Hard Rock Live for a performance by the band that truly embodies that hard-partying ethos: Kiss. It will rock. It will roll. And when Gene Simmons and company culminate their show by playing “Rock AND Roll All Night,” you can actually take their advice for once by heading back to Murphy’s Law for a few more rounds and a follow-up show by Funkette and the Swinging Richards. How’s that for a slice of fried gold? Find Seminole Paradise at 5804 Seminole Way in Hollywood. The block party is free, but Kiss tickets start at $79. Visit seminolehardrockhollywood.com, or call 954-327-ROCK.
