Freaker, you went down to East Coast, right? How do the ribs here stack up? I went there for smoked wings and thought they were awesome, but didn't try any other 'cue.
Bill, you don't know bbq from a pot hole you just fell into.
The only thing I agree with here is the brisket is dry. Yes, it is extremely hard to not dry out the brisket when smoked, but it can be done and they haven't mastered that yet. The poblano cheddar bread is overly dry too and they need to look into that as well.
Best sauces are the chipotle and carolina but they need to cut the tips off of those bottles b/c they get clogged all too easily.
The ribs are the best I have had for any place here that is still open for business.
Anyone that has eaten at the Smokehouse knows that they have some of the best BBQ around. Don't let this name calling blogger scare you away, try Smokehouse for yourself, you won't be disappointed!
I majorly disagree with this review. Smokehouse has the most authentic BBQ in town. The pulled pork and mac 'n' cheese bites are two of my favorite items! Try it yourself - you won't be disappointed.
This review seems to be more focused on trying to be humerous than actually helpful. Smokehouse has great BBQ and I just don't understand why anyone would dislike their food at all. They know what it takes to make REAL American BBQ.
Smokehouse is by far one of the BEST barbecue restaurants I have ever been to. Hands down amazing food.
I am a bit confused...... Was this critic actually in the restaurant or did a friend of his who owns another restaurant write this for him??????The Pulled (NOT SHREDDED) Pork is amazing... The sauces on the table are excellent and the ST. Louie ribs are some of the best I have ever had..... BTW, I have not seen Peach Cobler on the menu in a couple months....... Mac and Cheese Bites, Deep Fried, who woulda thunk it would have been greasy????????Who is this so called food blogger.... It is a shame that a really great up and coming restaurant may take a hit because of this incompetent so called critic... Come out and judge on your own cause he obviously did not!
I have been eating at the smokehouse since they started doing Bar B Q. I think this critic needs to fine tune his skills. The food is not only superior, but it's consistant. My family and I go about once a month. My son is a very cautious eater and loves the food, especially the ribs and the smoked wings. I have been in the food service business in So. Florida for 12 years. I specialize in USDA Prime and Dry Aged Beef. I have been servicing some of the finest restuarants, country clubs and hotels locally and nationally. The food is always cooked well and presented in a way that you would not expect from this out of the way treasure.Just for your info, I don't sell them Prime Meat for their Bar B Q, but I know good quality. Try it !!! You Be The Judge !!!
I am not a family member nor involved with SMOKEHOUSE in any way other than a very very satisfied and happy customer. I can not imagine what issue this writer has with the establishment. THE PLACE IS FANTASTIC!!!!I have been eating BBQ for over 30 years. I can verify that I take vacations specifically designed around the quest for excellent BBQ. I have been to the BIG APPLE BBQ BLOCK PARTY and was at THE BIG ASPEN BBQ BLOCK PARTY LAST YEAR. They brought in some of the finest Q in the country. I KNOW MY Q. SMOKEHOUSE IS SOME OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. The quality, flavors and true 2 Q process are equal to the best out there.Go to some of these other so called Q places in abd around Boca. Boiled ribs with sauce put under a broiler to finish. It is a joke. How about this so called food critic letting an independent team of people set up a real BBQ CHALLENGE? If the consensus of real BBQ Judges finds his review incoreect, he should agree to lose his job. It is obvious that he has "NO Q" about real Q. There has to be some self serving agenda going on here. The place is packed with repeat customers for lunch and dinner. I have been a 20 year resident of East Boca. I can not say enough great things about this place.I know that some fellow Boca residents line up like cattle to wait for fake Q at other places. They just dont know or understand the process involved in what authentic Q really is or really tase like.Dont let some writer who is on his own agenda, compromise your chance to enjoy some of the best Q going. Try the place once and make up your own mind. The prices are very reasonable so you owe it to yourself to check it out if you really enjoy good Q.MNR
As a Boca Raton businessman, I have a great suggestion for New Times...... hire a professional food critic who has taste in his mouth, class in his writing and creativity in his description. This so called blogger hasn't got the slightest idea what real smoked BBQ is or what it is supposed to taste like. Reviews such as this do not bring credibility to your publication. This local restaurant has grown by leaps and bounds in a short time. The Sun Sentinel just gave this restaurant a rave review. We eat there all the time and absolutely love the food. I have brought friends from NY there and they can't wait to come back. Not to see me... but to go there to eat. I an not an owner of this restaurant, just a client. I am a decent cook, but my wife and I are great at eating out! We enjoy all types of food and we have eaten in some of the finest restaurants. When we want a easy, fun, enjoyable, filling and delicious meal, we go to the Smokehouse Grille and Wingery. Your part time so called food blogger (Bill Citera) obviously wouldn't know a good meal if it hit in in the mouth! We will never follow anything he has to say about any restaurant. The Smokehouse Grille and Wingery is the best BBQ not only in BOca raton, but the best we have ever had!. Try it.... you'll like it!
Wow! You must have this confused with another restaurant. I have had nothing but great, authentic smoked BBQ everytime I eat here (once a week). We got the mac n' cheese bites once, just to try them. They are not the healthiest thing on the menu, but what did you expect from macaroni and cheese that is battered and deep fried???? If you want healthy, get one of the tasty salads that they offer. The pulled pork is my favorite, and I am surprised that you said they are stringy, because they NEVER shred it. I have never had dessert there, as their portions are so big, we can never fit it in, but the peach cobbler hasn't been on the menu in months.
