Art Hearts Japan

Pompano Beach, affectionately called Pompton by many, is known more for its cameos in TLC’s Police Women of Broward County than, well, anything. Still, that hasn’t stopped the crew at Art/Heart from attempting to transform this notable town into an artistic mecca, even if only for just one night every few weeks.

With more than 30 artists on display, not to mention a silent auction, art raffle, live art and screen printing, DJs, and a performance by Alexander, this event is single-handedly outdoing itself and well worth the $5 cover. And in a shopping center, no less. Holding true to its name, all proceeds from the silent auction will go to World Vision’s Japan disaster relief, so you can expand your art collection while contributing to a good cause. Art/Heart runs from 5 to 11 p.m. at Pompano Citi Centre (1955 N. Federal Highway, Pompano Beach). Visit artheartreachinreachout.org.
