If Cupcakes Are Bad, We Don’t Wanna Be Good
Eating a cupcake may be a sin — depends on who your trainer at LA Fitness is. But tattooed burlesque girls dressed in shiny cupcake-icing-colored satin bustiers? That’s definitely got sin written all over it — much less fattening, though. Much like cupcakes, there’s something harmlessly saccharine and playfully naughty about burlesque dancers as opposed to a good, old-fashioned stripper. After all, these girls have skills. They dance, they tease, they have intricately themed ensembles that come off a piece at a time for your viewing enjoyment, and they’ve got names like Miss Candy, Miss Buffy, and Miss Cherry Mae — if you didn’t know better, you’d think they were debutantes at an antebellum ball.
These ladies wear a lot less than Miss Scarlett ever did, and they’ll be showing it off at the “Seven Deadly Sins” party Friday at Delux Nightclub (16 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach). The doors open at 10 p.m., with the show heating up at 11:30 p.m., and cover is free before 11 p.m., $10 after that. Delux Nightclub is for those 21 and over.
