This Plantation strip-mall pizza joint has old-school neighborhood parlor flavor, sans the red-and-white checkered tablecloths. Jukeboxes have been replaced with flat screens, but the warm customer service makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Don't be surprised if one of the owners — Armin or Tony (hence the name Armony's) — serves you himself. (Armin even made TV news when he returned $3,700 cash that one of his customers had dropped in the restaurant.) Pies roll out of the oven constantly, with a crisp-yet-chewy crust and standard toppings — spinach, anchovies, and pineapple being the most exotic choices. Single slices are available ($2.45), as are whole Sicilian pies, and owners recommend the breakfast pizza — a "thin omelet on top of a pizza" with melty-browned mozzarella, eggs, bacon or sausage and a veggie or two but no sauce. Chicken wings are a customer favorite; baked ziti, meatball subs, calzones, and stromboli the size of a license plate round out the menu. Fresh garlic rolls arrive crusty and coated with plenty of their namesake ingredient. Finish your meal with zeppole: powdery white balls of deep-fried dough, yet seemingly greaseless. If you're too full, take them to go in a brown paper bag; like the pizza, they'll be just as good in a few hours.
