Sundays are fun days. Nobody cares if you get up in the p.m. hours, you probably have been absolved of all other responsibility, and we heard calories don't count either. So luckily, this Sunday you can check out an event that graciously accommodates late risers and serious eaters: the New Times-sponsored Rock N' Roll Beer-B-Que at the Hard Rock. The all-you-can-eat-and-drink event offers, as the name suggests, a selection of 16 beers on tap — Shock Top Belgian White, Wailua Wheat, and more. Meanwhile, eats will come from local food trucks and restaurants like el Rey de las Fritas, Bru's Room, Whiskey Tango, and seven others.

Still, that all needs a soundtrack, and the performers of note here are Seven Mary Three, an alt-rock quartet that started out in the grunge days and continues to truck on in the present. Though the band hails from Williamsburg, Virginia, it's actually Florida where it got its first taste of mainstream success.
The band's early track "Cumbersome" scored influential heavy airplay on Orlando alt-rock radio. This led to a strong early fan base in the Sunshine State and to the band's decamping here. "Cumbersome" eventually became a bona fide Top 40 hit, along with later hit "Water's Edge." You're welcome, Seven Mary Three! The Florida, and specifically Orlando, connection actually continues to this day — the band's 2010 album, Backbooth, was recorded at the popular O-Town venue of the same name.
