"Summer Partery Tour" at Rocketown July 25

It's the thick of summer, which means school is out and it's time for epic, long package tours of rock bands under cutesy names. Voilà, the "Summer Partery" tour, which arrives at Rocketown this Monday at a start time, 5 p.m., that clearly excludes anyone old enough to keep regular office hours. No matter, though, because this is a show to make kids dance, and sorry if you don't understand what's going on with them.

Headliners here include In Fear & Faith, a San Diego band flirting with some of the trappings of extreme metal — epic keyboards, rapid-fire drumming — while still incorporating enough clean melodic vocals to ward off diehard death metallers. Boston-based Vanna, meanwhile, is more unapologetically hardcore-based, full of fist-pumping chugga-chugga chords and pit-ready breakdowns at regular intervals. A Loss for Words lightens things up with kinetic, melodic pop-punk of a type that harks back, pleasantly, to some of the '90s skate-punk acts.
