As a kid growing up in Florida, you were most likely given the following rules of survival: (1) Don't go anywhere without an SPF of at least 30. (2) Don't swim past the buoys. (3) Don't light those illegal fireworks until you father gets home to help you. (4) And don't -- under any circumstances -- feed the gators! Although the restrictions have probably served you well up to this point, you can skip the last one today as Daggerwing Nature Center (111200 Park Access Road, Boca Raton) presents its Baby Alligator Feeding event. Every Wednesday and Friday in August, visitors can gather around the alligator tank in the new exhibit hall, listen to an educational talk, and watch as baby gators get their eats on. The facility features state-of-the-art exhibits and a reading area, laboratory, classroom, and observation tower. The feeding is at 3:15 p.m. and is free.
