Sun Life Stadium hosts soccer, the world's game, on Saturday night. But Sunday, it's uniquely Caribbean soca that will be pumping throughout the stadium and even along the streets of Miami Gardens. It's that time again, folks, when Broward and Miami-Dade come together to sheepishly ogle a long procession of island beauties wearing skimpy yet heavily bedazzled outfits as they march through the streets during the Miami Carnival in the Gardens festival.

The festival is the signature event of the Miami Broward One Carnival, which keeps getting bigger every year. And why wouldn't it? There are more than 20 masquerade bands and six steel bands blaring soca. And they all seem to come with a never-ending array of hip-thrusting, rump-rotating ladies whose colorful outfits can't nearly contain what's in the trunk. Lucky for you, those behinds will be kept in an almost constant state of movement with the hypnotic rhythmic sounds of soca from the likes of Alison Hinds, Ongu & Red Hot Flames, Talpree, Benjai, Skinny Fabulous, and Iwer George. The parade starts at 11 a.m. from NW 26th Avenue to NW 199th Street, then west on 199th to NW 27 Avenue, north to NW 203rd St., then east into Sun Life Stadium (2269 Dan Marino Blvd., Miami Gardens). Tickets cost $20 online or $25 at the stadium. Visit miamibrowardcarnival.com.
