Having a dog is a lot like having a kid. Both are completely dependent on you, you probably take both of them to their respective doctors far more often than you visit your own, and you feel guilty when you leave them home alone to go out drinking. Well, now you can make it up to them with a little quality time at the Pup Crawl on Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be a puppy parade, face painting, doga (yes, that means dog yoga), a doggy fashion show, music, and food. Vendors will be hawking everything from pet-friendly baked goods to pet clothes. For the humans, all of the restaurants along the 200 block will be offering food and drink specials, but only to registered Pup Crawlers. The $25 registration fee will get you a wristband, a Pup Crawl T-shirt, and a doggy bandanna and will go to Paws2Help, a nonprofit animal shelter in West Palm Beach. If you are currently without pet or looking to increase your furry family, stop by the booths for Adopt-a-Cat, Second Chance Puppies, or Kitties and Save-a-Pet to check out the orphaned felines and canines in need of loving homes.
