Who would have thought the rotting undead would ever be so popular? Zombies are just so in these days. Sure, they're not exactly sparkly vampires or werewolves with rippling muscles, but for reanimated corpses, they are seeing quite a renaissance. They are even popping up in the coolest nightspots, like downtown Delray Beach. On Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., they will paint the town red (with blood, of course) at the "Second-Annual Night of the Drinking Dead." The evening will begin with the Zombie Prom at the Delray Beach Arts Garage (180 NE First St.) from 8 to 10 p.m., with live music by the Girlfriend Experience (let's hope she's into necrophilia) before death-marching on to the "Creep House" at Dada (52 N. Swinton Ave.) from 10 to 11 p.m. After that, it's on to Delux (16 E. Atlantic Ave.) to "party like a dead rock star" from 11 p.m. to midnight before invading the "apocalyptic zombie bunker" at Kevro's Art Bar from midnight to 2 a.m. Finally, you'll (dead)end Thriller style in "Pineapple Grave." (Aren't puns terrifying?) Zombie attire is mandatory, and there will be a free drink at each bar. Tickets cost $20 and are available at nightofthedrinkingdead.com.
