Five days to see 15-plus art fairs? Face it, you will not get to see everything during Art Basel week. But many don’t realize that a few of the satellite fairs open a day early, so you can eke out more art gawking and beat the badge-wielding crowds. Here’s that advantage:

Seven Miami is an early opener. This minifair got started by galleries who felt frustrated by the larger fair’s ten-page contracts about how they could exhibit their art. Doors open at 11 a.m., and it’s free at Seven Miami (2637 N. Miami Ave., Wynwood). Visit seven-miami.com.

Scope Miami will crack open its white tent this Wednesday. Last year, Polish artist Olek stole the show with a yarn-bombed convertible with passengers parked outside and a completely knitted room inside the fair. Find out if an artist can top that at NE First Avenue and 30th Street when Scope opens at 11 a.m. this year. Admission costs $20. Visit scope-art.com.

Look for “ZOOOM! Decoding Common Practice,” a video exhibit curated by curator Julia Draganovic at one of the longest-running art fairs, Art Miami. It opens at 11 a.m. Wednesday and costs $15 at NE First Avenue and 31st Street. Visit art-miami.com.

Across the causeway, Design Miami/ also opens Wednesday at Meridian Avenue and 19th Street, just outside the Miami Beach Convention Center. This applied-design fair shows off the world’s most eye-catching furniture, lighting, and other objets d’art. Design Miami/ opens at noon, and admission costs $15 to $25. Visit designmiami.com.
