It Was a Bazaar Year
When people think of Andy Warhol, they think of Campbell's Soup and Marilyn Monroe decorated in glorious Technicolor. Blah, blah! That's stereotyping. But it's the same for any artist who becomes famous from a specific style. Need another example? Consider Pablo Picasso. But what those casual art admirers fail to remember is the inspiration, the designs, and the different media that led to their final masterpieces. Warhol is no exception. The Society of the Four Arts is featuring a gallery of illustrations at the Esther B. O'Keefe Art Gallery (Four Arts Plaza, Palm Beach). These pieces were ones Warhol specifically designed for Harper's Bazaar. While few of the original illustrations still exist, this gallery features wonderful prints from the magazine itself.

"Andy Warhol, the Bazaar Years 1951-1964" will run until January 15. During season (December through April), the gallery is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. Admission is free to members and children 14 and under.
