As one of America's great troubadours, Paul Simon has hardly slowed down through his 60s and now 70s. This past April, he released So Beautiful or So What, the 11th entry in his solo discography. (That doesn't count, of course, his work with Simon & Garfunkel or any number of other musical projects). The concise, ten-track album picks up on many of the threads Simon's fans have been following for years. Guitar licks still bounce off his old world-music obsessions, and lyrical themes are mature wrestling matches with questions of spirituality. It's moving stuff from one of America's living musical treasures. Fans can also expect some old classics thrown in, but with a career spanning back almost 50 years, it's always a grab bag which vintage favorites Simon might choose to include.
