More About

It's not just anything that gets people all around the world tuning into Jewish TV to bring a three-hour event into their homes -- the 32nd annual Chanukah Festival at Gulfstream Park is that special. And we get to enjoy the lighting of Florida's largest menorah and the 100-car menorah parade that follows the festival in person. The Chabad of South Broward expects this year's celebration to be the biggest yet. Since moving to Gulfstream Park in 2007, the event has drawn over 10,000 participants and spectators to celebrate the Jewish Festival of Lights. This year, the main event will be a live performance by Jewish musical artist Benny Friedman, who hails from Minnesota. Hip-hop artist Nosson Zand, Junior Winner of Jewish Star 2011 Yisroel Amar, and the YBO Orchestra will take the stage. Also in store: A duo of twin Chassidic acrobats from France will dazzle. The festival begins at 7 p.m. at Gulfstream Park (901 S. Federal Highway, Hallandale) with free admission for everyone (plus there will be giveaways and prizes). Dinner costs an additional fee. Visit chanukahfestival.com, or call 954-458-1877.
Mon., Dec. 26, 7 p.m., 2011
