It’s a Secret

Dutch artist Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was a master of the Dutch Golden Age, not a master of golden showers. Or was he? Probably not. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t create works that were considered risque for the 1600s. A collection of 20 of Rembrandt’s etchings, which historians, curators, and collectors have dubbed his “dirty little secrets,” are on display at the World Erotic Art Museum (1205 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) through March 31. From the collection of the Baron of Fulwood & Dirleton and curated by WEAM founder Naomi Wilzig, “Rembrandt’s Erotic Secrets” marks the first time all of these lesser-known works have been exhibited together.

More About

Among the pieces on display are A Man Making Water, an image of a man urinating; Adam and Eve, which captures the moment when a nude Eve persuades her equally nude counterpart to eat the forbidden fruit; and Nude Woman Seated on a Mound, which depicts a lady unapologetically exposing her sagging belly and unflattering garter marks. Admission costs $15, and the museum is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday through Sunday 11 a.m. to midnight.
