We’ve lived here for years, and we’ve watched the deterioration of the Hooters franchise. Flip a coin; half the world wouldn’t eat at a Hooters because those joints objectified women, and then the other half would eat there for exactly that. And 1 percent would go for the food. If women, women, women — in tiny uniforms — is what gets you going... apparently, Wowies Sports Grill is the better Hooters. It’s got this right: Instead of having a Wowies on every corner, there’s just the one, in Boca Raton (7036 W. Palmetto Park Road) to make it special. Which also means that it does its damnedest to get you out there for a Heat game. It’s posted on crankuptheheat.net that it’s “a modern sports bar with 31 big-screen television sets, a 123 projection TVs, beautiful waitresses, excellent food, three full-liquor bars, and did I mention beautiful waitresses?” It says its food is good. And that there are also plasma screens outside on the patio, where you can smoke your cigs. Tip-off for the Heat versus the Cleveland Cavaliers is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, so you’re just missing the happy hour, which is from noon to 7 p.m. (wow!), but if you go to the website above, you’ll find fliers and ways to score free shit.
