With the quickly approaching June 15 release of the major motion picture Rock of Ages starring Hollywood heavy-hitter Tom Cruise, Revolution Live, the epicenter of the film's the Bourbon Room scenes, will play host to the official Rock of Ages Release Party on Friday courtesy of Annette Work Productions and the Broward Office of Film and Entertainment.
Once again, Revolution will transform itself into the notorious Bourbon Room, inviting local actors and extras from the film - and civilians too - to relive the experience via the live rock 'n' roll performance of Lazy Bones, whose guitarist, Brev Sullivan, costarred alongside - and fine-tuned the guitar skills of - Cruise (AKA Stacee Jaxx) in the movie's band, Arsenal. The South Florida-based School of Rock Band, composed of talented local youths, will also bring a lineup of '80s classics to the party.
Admission is free, with specialty drinks like "Pour Some Sugar on Me" shots and "Jaxx & Coke" sponsored by Jack Daniels. Bring your movie-ticket stub and get a drink on the house. Dress the part and enter the ROA look-alike contest for a chance to win a variety of prizes, including Ted Nugent concert tichets, gift certificates from America’s Backyard, studio time, and much, much more. As they say, "The beat goes on."
The party runs from 9 p.m. till whenever the rock stars call it quits. You must be at least 21 to get in. Revolution Live is located at 100 SW Third Ave. in Fort Lauderdale.
